Web Experience Specialist

Position Summary

In this hands-on role, the candidate will be responsible for website administration, content management, user experience and SEO improvements. The main goal is to optimize website user journeys and conversion opportunities. The candidate will help us improve student engagement and build enrollment-focused website experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Website and Content Management

  • Manage and maintain website content, images, forms and digital assets to ensure accuracy, brand alignment and clear organization.
  • Oversee website navigation, site structure and content publishing schedules while collaborating on SEO and digital campaign initiatives alongside the marketing team.
  • Serve as the internal expert for website functionality, CMS administration, plugins and technical optimization.
  • Stay informed on emerging web technologies, accessibility standards, SEO trends, and digital best practices

Web Development and Technical Administration

  • Administer and maintain the WordPress CMS environment, which includes developing and updating webpages using HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript.
  • Implement page layouts, forms and site enhancements while managing integrations for CRM systems, analytics platforms and third-party tools.
  • Monitor website performance, security and overall site health while coordinating with hosting providers, IT staff and external partners.

User Experience, Accessibility and Optimization

  • Test and conduct continuous improvements in UX/UI, accessibility and mobile responsiveness and ensure compliance with responsive design standards and ADA/WCAG guidelines.
  • Apply SEO best practices including metadata, internal linking and page optimization while improving website speed, engagement and discoverability across traditional and AI-driven search platforms.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing for webpages, features and functionality updates.
  • Work with the marketing team to optimize content layouts, CTAs, and user journeys to improve engagement and conversion opportunities (CROs)

Analytics and Collaboration

  • Collaborate on implementation and analysis of lead tracking, conversion measurement, and user engagement initiatives
  • Monitor website traffic, search performance and conversions using Google Analytics and Google Search Console to create performance reports and share insights and recommendations with the marketing team
  • Collaborate with marketing staff, admissions and academic departments on website updates while providing CMS guidance and sharing web content best practices.

Technical Environment and Tech Stack

Ideal candidates will bring expertise in the following technologies:

  • WordPress CMS and Gravity Forms
  • HTML, PHP, CSS and JavaScript
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console
  • SEO tools, conversion tracking and campaign attribution platforms
  • Website hosting environments and DNS management
  • CRM and online form integrations
  • Accessibility standards and testing tools (ADA/WCAG)
  • Basic graphic editing tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
  • Collaboration platforms like Microsoft 365 and Teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in web development, digital marketing, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of professional experience managing and optimizing websites, preferably in higher education/enrollment-marketing websites
  • Experience working with WordPress CMS and Gravity Forms
  • Working knowledge of HTML, PHP, CSS, website accessibility standards (WCAG 2\.1 AA), and SEO best practices, especially technical SEO and website performance optimizations
  • Experience with website analytics and performance tracking tools such as GA4 and Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience with website hosting environments, plugin updates, site speed/uptime monitoring, DNS management, and CRM \& third-party integrations.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI best practices and conversion rate optimization.
  • Enthusiasm for and familiarity with A/B testing or personalization tools is a plus
  • Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Budgeted Salary: $65,000\.00-$70,000\.00/yr
