Full Stack Developer (Java / React) – Tier 1 Global Hedge Fund – Excellent Compensation + Benefits

I’m working with a leading tier 1 global hedge fund that is looking to hire a Full Stack Java / React Developer to join its Post-Trade Technology team in New York.

This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative role sitting close to the business, where technology plays a central role in driving efficiency, transparency, and insight across post-trade operations. You’ll work directly with teams across Operations, Treasury, and Compliance, building intuitive, high-performance tools that help the firm better understand risk, opportunity, and market behaviour.

The role offers full ownership of the development lifecycle — from requirements gathering through to implementation and testing — and provides excellent exposure to both senior technologists and business users, including portfolio managers. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong engineering fundamentals with real-world financial problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Design and develop full stack applications using Java on the backend and React/TypeScript on the frontend.
• Work closely with post-trade business teams to automate processes and improve workflows through technology.
• Build reusable UI components to accelerate delivery and ensure consistency across internal platforms.
• Analyse, integrate, and maintain data feeds from counterparties and prime brokers.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to build systems and components used across the wider firm.
• Take ownership of solutions end-to-end, contributing to design discussions, implementation, testing, and ongoing enhancement.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of commercial experience with core Java and React / TypeScript (or similar modern frontend frameworks).
• Strong experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Prior exposure to financial services (buy-side or sell-side), with familiarity across financial products.
• Strong interest in the business side of finance and confidence working directly with end users.
• Curious, proactive mindset with a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic trading environment.
