Job Description

Assisting with developing and maintaining C\+\+ software components for engineering applications, with a strong focus on user interface development and graphics processing of bridge finite element analysis models using DirectX APIs. Responsibilities include coding assigned tasks, enhancing existing software systems, troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, and collaborating with product managers, engineers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Participation in code reviews and adherence to software development best practices are expected.

The position also supports the development of C\+\+ software packages for site characterization and geostatistical analysis of deep foundations. Duties include organizing, documenting, and tracking development tasks through the BSI queuing system while working closely with engineers and fellow programmers. Proficiency in DirectX 11, C\+\+, MFC, linear algebra, and calculus is required to maintain and enhance graphics functionality across BSI software products.

Assist with developing internal validation and testing tools using Python scripting and leveraging Azure DevOps for project management, collaboration, and workflow efficiency. The role also provides technical support to users by diagnosing and resolving issues related to BSI software applications.

Other duties may include coordinating the publication of BSI newsletters, creating and testing software installation packages using InstallShield, maintaining help documentation in web and PDF formats through FLARE, and supporting website management and security initiatives

Expected Salary

$60,000-$70,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred

Strong proficiency in C\+\+ and object-oriented programming.

Experience with STL, templates, and modern C\+\+ techniques.

Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and memory management.

Familiarity with debugging tools and performance profiling.

Experience with version control (Git).

Familiarity with DirectX11\.

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for video editing, document preparation, and basic design is a plus.

Familiarity with SQL, ASP.NET Web Forms, jQuery, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and IIS is considered a plus.
