Job Summary

The Incentive Compensation Analyst administers and optimizes sales and performance‑based incentive compensation programs, with primary ownership of execution within Workday. This position manages end‑to‑end incentive cycles, builds reporting and analysis, and partners with Sales, Finance, and HR to ensure accurate payouts, effective plan design, and strong compliance controls. This role applies experienced judgment to complex incentive scenarios while driving standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities

  • Administers and optimizes incentive compensation plans in Workday, including plan setup, calculations, and payouts.
  • Manages end to end incentive compensation cycles, including data validation, quality controls, payout approvals, and audit ready documentation, demonstrating attention to accuracy and compliance.
  • Builds, maintains, and enhances Workday reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to support incentive tracking, transparency, and decision making.
  • Partners with Sales, Finance, and HR to align incentive plan design, execution, and governance with business objectives.
  • Analyzes incentive payouts, attainment trends, and cost impacts to provide clear insights that inform leadership decisions and plan effectiveness.
  • Supports annual incentive planning, modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis to ensure scalable and financially responsible program design.
  • Drives process efficiency by standardizing workflows, improving controls, and leveraging automation within Workday to reduce manual effort and risk.
  • Acts as an escalation point and mentor for complex incentive compensation and system issues, reinforcing consistent practices and associate understanding.
  • Maintains and updates incentive plan documentation and coordinates changes to ensure clarity, governance, and audit readiness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope

  • Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
  • Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
  • May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

Education And Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience administering incentive compensation programs within Workday, including plan configuration, calculations, reporting, EIBs, and payouts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret incentive outcomes, financial impacts, and performance trends.
  • Proven ability to partner cross functionally with Sales, Finance, and HR in a complex, deadline driven environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of incentive governance, controls, documentation, and audit requirements.
  • Ability to lead through influence, problem solve complex issues, and mentor others with clarity and confidence.
  • Certification: CCP, CSCP is preferred.
