As part of our continued growth in North America, we are seeking Electrical Commissioning Engineers to support a major hyperscale Data Center program in Central Texas.

Position Summary

The Electrical Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and energization activities associated with mission-critical electrical infrastructure supporting Data Center operations.

This is a hands-on field role requiring daily on-site presence in Austin, Temple, or Waco, Texas. The successful candidate will work closely with construction teams, equipment vendors, commissioning specialists, and end customers to ensure safe and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute commissioning and startup activities for MV/LV electrical systems.
  • Perform functional testing of electrical distribution equipment and associated control systems.
  • Conduct protection relay testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Support electrical system energization and turnover activities.
  • Review electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and control logic documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and automation systems during commissioning activities.
  • Prepare commissioning reports, test records, punch lists, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, engineering teams, and customer representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all site safety requirements and commissioning procedures.

Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

  • Breaker control systems
  • Load shedding and restoration schemes
  • Generator synchronization and control
  • Arc Flash protection systems
  • Critical power infrastructure
  • UPS systems
  • Emergency backup power systems
  • Data Center commissioning environments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical commissioning, testing, controls, or power systems engineering.
  • Strong understanding of MV/LV power distribution systems and electrical protection schemes.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and control logic drawings.
  • Experience in Data Centers, substations, industrial facilities, power generation, or mission-critical environments is highly preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 certification strongly preferred.
  • NETA, NICET, or equivalent commissioning certifications are considered a plus.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and field execution.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Austin, Temple, or Waco, Texas.
  • Ability to travel between project locations as required.
