Our client is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to drive the evolution of its data landscape as it transitions from legacy on-premise systems to a modern Azure-based environment. This role will be instrumental in shaping how data is structured, integrated, and leveraged across the enterprise, enabling real-time insights and enhanced customer intelligence across high-transaction business lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the enterprise data architecture roadmap, supporting a large-scale migration to a cloud-native Azure platform
- Architect scalable data solutions that enable real-time analytics, reporting, and cross-platform data accessibility
- Design and implement modern data pipelines, including streaming frameworks, API-based ingestion, and event-driven processing
- Collaborate with engineering teams to establish and enhance integration capabilities using platforms such as MuleSoft or equivalent technologies
- Establish enterprise-wide standards for data governance, architecture patterns, and security best practices
- Enable advanced analytics initiatives by building data environments that support machine learning and AI-driven use cases
- Translate business requirements into technical architecture, partnering closely with both technology and operational leadership
- Continuously improve data performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across platforms and pipelines
- Assess and introduce emerging technologies and architectural approaches, including data mesh and next-generation data frameworks
- Provide technical mentorship and help build best practices within a growing data and engineering function
Qualifications
- 8\+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related disciplines
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting cloud transformation initiatives, particularly migrations from on-premise environments
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure data services and cloud architecture design
- Hands-on experience with real-time data processing, API integrations, and distributed data systems
- Familiarity with integration platforms such as MuleSoft or similar middleware solutions
- Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and governance frameworks
- Ability to operate autonomously while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in high-volume, consumer-facing industries (hospitality, entertainment, retail, gaming, etc.) is preferred
- Exposure to complex, multi-entity or multi-location organizations is a plus
