Job Description
DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe.
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a team focused on building scalable data solutions within the Anti-Financial Crime area. The role involves working with large data volumes, distributed systems and modern data technologies to support fraud detection and compliance-related initiatives.
You will be part of an international engineering environment, collaborating closely with developers, analysts and business stakeholders to design, develop and improve data-driven applications and pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Big Data solutions using Python and PySpark
- Build and optimize scalable data pipelines and processing workflows
- Work with technologies from the Hadoop ecosystem such as Spark, Hive or HDFS
- Contribute to performance optimization, reliability and maintainability of applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Support deployment, testing and monitoring activities in production environments
- Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and automation processes
Requirements
- Strong experience with Python development
- Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, PySpark, Hadoop ecosystem components or distributed data processing
- Good knowledge of SQL and working with large datasets
- Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, Hive or similar technologies
- Understanding of Linux/Unix environments and Shell Scripting
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Knowledge of CI/CD or DevOps practices represents a plus
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP represents an advantage
- Experience in banking, financial services or regulated environments is considered a plus
