Leading US financial markets operator and data services company

Role:

A well-established financial markets company is looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure team. This is a 50/50 role - you'll own and maintain a large-scale on-prem data warehouse (\~10TB, \~100 ETL jobs) while simultaneously helping architect and build out a modern cloud-based data lakehouse. This isn't a pure maintenance gig - there's real opportunity to shape the direction of the data platform and leave a mark on the architecture. Lots of hands-on development, new feature builds, and collaboration with data analysts who depend on the pipelines you own.

Must-Have Skills

• 5\+ years of professional experience
• Heavy SQL development - tuning, stored procedures, schema/database design
• ETL pipeline experience - building, optimizing, and maintaining at scale
• AWS (Athena, S3) - primary cloud platform
• Relational database experience - Informix, Postgres, or MySQL
• Scripting - Python, Bash, or Shell
• Comfortable working in both on-prem and cloud environments
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

Pluses

• Financial services or fintech background
• Experience with cloud data lakehouse migrations
• Familiarity with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.)

Compensation

• Base up to $150k depending on experience
• \~20% discretionary annual bonus
