About The Role

The iSpot Research Data Scientist plays a crucial role in shaping the future of measurement solutions within the organization. This position involves developing innovative methodologies, building prototypes, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to scale models that meet the complex needs of clients in the advertising and media industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth data analysis, developing machine learning models, and creating efficient data pipelines to process large and high-dimensional datasets. The Research Data Scientist will contribute to the company's growth by delivering insights and solutions that drive strategic decision-making for a diverse range of clients.

Qualifications

  • Degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, physics, social sciences, or other quantitative disciplines
  • Master’s degree preferred but not required
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in data science and/or modeling
  • Technical understanding of machine learning, statistics, and data science principles
  • Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL; willingness to learn new tools as needed
  • Experience working with high-dimensional datasets
  • Strong data wrangling and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, writing, and critical thinking abilities
  • Attention to detail and a pragmatic, team-oriented approach

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis and develop advanced statistical models to extract insights from large datasets related to TV viewership and demographics
  • Design, train, and deploy machine learning models to address measurement challenges and improve analytics solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and optimize data pipelines for data collection, processing, and transformation from multiple sources
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in data science techniques, tools, and technologies, and explore innovative approaches to solving complex problems
  • Work closely with product teams to integrate models into scalable solutions that meet client needs
  • Document methodologies, results, and best practices to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance the company's measurement capabilities and analytics offerings
