Graphic Designer
Brand Identity, Digital \& Social Campaigns
(2\+ Years Experience)
a5 Branding \& Digital is looking for a talented Graphic Designer with two or more years of professional experience—ideally within a creative agency—who specializes in developing brand identity systems and executing compelling digital and social media campaigns.
This role is for a designer who thinks strategically, designs conceptually and executes meticulously. If you’re a designer who wants your work to mean something — who cares about typography as much as civic impact, who sweats the details but thinks big — you’ll feel at home in our Chicago Loop office. We work in the office Mondays and Wednesdays and from home on the other days.
What You’ll Do
Brand Identity Development
- Design logos, visual identity systems and brand guidelines
- Develop typography, color systems, iconography and graphic elements
- Translate brand strategy into cohesive visual language
- Prepare presentation-ready identity concepts for client review
Digital \& Social Campaigns
- Design assets for social media, display ads, email and web
- Develop campaign toolkits adaptable across multiple platforms
- Create motion-ready files or collaborate with motion designers
- Ensure brand consistency across digital touchpoints
Collaboration \& Execution
- Work closely with creative directors and strategists from concept to launch
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative reviews
- Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
- Prepare production-ready files for digital and print
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree
- Two or more years of professional design experience (agency preferred)
- Strong portfolio showcasing the ability to concept visual ideas and execute them
- Your type skills are good to begin with and you want to keep getting better
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- Experience designing for digital-first environments
- Understanding of typography visual hierarchy
- Ability to present and articulate design decisions clearly
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Bonus Skills
- Motion design (After Effects)
- Figma or other UI/UX tools
- Basic understanding of web production requirements
- Experience working with municipal, nonprofit or public-sector clients
