Salary: $160,000 – $230,000 \+ bonus \+ equity/options

We’re working with a well-funded, AI-first startup building a next-generation platform.

This is an opportunity to join at an early stage and take real ownership of the front-end experience for a highly technical product. You’ll work closely with a small, high-calibre team in a collaborative, in-person environment where engineers have genuine input into product direction. With strong momentum, ambitious growth plans, and a focus on building something from first principles, this role offers the chance to have immediate impact while working alongside experienced engineers from top-tier backgrounds.

This position sits at the heart of the product, with responsibility for shaping and building the user-facing experience. You’ll be translating complex workflows into intuitive, high-performance interfaces while working closely with product and design.

The environment is highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on quality, speed, and leveraging modern tooling, including AI-assisted development, to improve both output and developer experience.

• Build responsive, scalable, and accessible user interfaces using modern frameworks (React, Next.js, TypeScript)
• Develop and maintain shared components and design systems to ensure consistency
• Integrate front-end applications with backend services (REST, GraphQL, streaming APIs)
• Collaborate closely with product and design to bring concepts and wireframes into production
• Optimise performance, usability, and cross-browser compatibility
• Contribute to front-end architecture, best practices, and code quality standards
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve development speed, testing, and code quality

What They’re Looking For

• Strong front-end engineering experience using modern JavaScript frameworks (React/Next.js)
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles
• Experience integrating with APIs and working alongside backend teams
• Appreciation for UI/UX and ability to translate design into high-quality interfaces
• Experience working in fast-paced, product-focused environments
• Interest in or experience using AI tools to enhance development workflows
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset

Nice to Have

• Experience building real-time or data-driven interfaces
• Exposure to conversational or chat-based UI patterns
• Experience contributing to design systems or component libraries
• Familiarity with performance optimisation and accessibility best practices
• Previous experience in startup or high-growth environments
