About the Role

As a Java Backend Developer at IDFC FIRST Bank, you will be part of the Cutting-Edge Technology Team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs that support our digital banking platform. This role involves working with modern technologies and tools to deliver robust and scalable solutions aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong understanding and working knowledge of Spring Boot and Java technology platform.
• Develop backend endpoints end-to-end including router, service layer, and repository.
• Create and integrate APIs with existing systems.
• Apply unit testing frameworks and practice Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Utilize tools such as Jira, Grafana, Dynatrace, and Jaeger for monitoring and issue tracking.
• Write SQL queries to store, fetch, and process data using Oracle Database.
• Understand CI/CD pipelines and work with tools like Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Deliver outcomes within targets and ensure timely project completion.
• Understand business requirements and contribute to effective design.
• Develop detailed designs based on user stories or requirements.
• Support high-level design and participate in design reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide Level 3 support.
• Maintain configuration management of source code.
• Participate in scrum meetings and collaborate in testing and deployment processes.

What We Are Looking For

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (BE, B.Tech)

Experience

• 4\+ years of experience

Skills and Attributes

• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience in developing and integrating APIs.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks and TDD.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with Oracle Database.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
