DevOps Engineer – Bern

A technology-driven organisation is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a multidisciplinary digital transformation programme. The organisation is responsible for developing and operating a modern, large-scale web platform that supports critical, mission-critical processes across multiple stakeholders.

The environment brings together software engineering, IT operations, architecture, and change management, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, transparency, and quality. The role is well suited to an engineer who enjoys working on complex systems with real-world impact.

They are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in:

Kubernetes, Docker, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, Helm, ArgoCD, GitLab CI/CD, Observability \& Monitoring (Grafana), Microservices, Spring Boot collaboration, Platform Engineering, Cloud-Native Architecture, DevOps Culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the stable, secure, and highly available operation of complex application environments
  • Design and maintain modern deployment and release strategies using GitOps
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and operational automation
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers on architecture and platform integration
  • Develop and maintain scalable Infrastructure as Code solutions
  • Support observability, monitoring, and operational excellence across environments

Nice to Have:

  • Strong hands-on experience operating Kubernetes-based platforms in production
  • Proficiency with Docker, Helm, and ArgoCD
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
  • Solid understanding of microservice architectures
  • Familiarity with backend technologies such as Spring Boot to support close developer collaboration
  • Experience working in large-scale or complex programme environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset
