Position Summary
We’re looking for a
Sr. Tax Analyst,
for a multi-billion-dollar global organization
,
who specializes in investment‑related tax matters to support a broad mix of entities and portfolios. This role focuses on understanding how various financial products are taxed, ensuring accurate reporting, and contributing to the team’s overall tax strategy. The position involves frequent interaction with colleagues across finance, legal, and investment operations. The analyst will report to the Tax Manager and take ownership of both recurring responsibilities and one‑off projects.
Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance
- Prepare and review tax filings for corporate and partnership entities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Assist in compiling data for investment‑related schedules and supporting documentation.
Investment Tax Analysis
- Evaluate investment structures—including partnerships, real estate vehicles, and structured financial products—to determine the correct tax treatment.
- Coordinate with accounting and investment teams to ensure transactions are accurately reflected for tax purposes.
Tax Provision \& Reporting
- Support quarterly and annual tax provision calculations in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Maintain detailed workpapers supporting tax adjustments, estimates, and disclosures.
Tax Basis \& Accounting Support
- Track and reconcile tax basis for investment positions.
- Identify differences between tax basis and financial reporting basis and ensure proper documentation.
Research \& Planning
- Monitor legislative updates and evolving tax rules affecting investment activities.
- Conduct technical research and prepare summaries to support tax planning and strategic decisions.
Audit Support
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits, including responses to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Assist with data requests and reconciliation efforts.
Process Improvement
- Recommend enhancements to tax processes, workflows, and data management.
- Support automation and analytics initiatives aimed at improving efficiency within the tax function.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with investment operations, treasury, legal, and accounting teams to gather information and support enterprise‑wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field required.
- Advanced degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred but not mandatory.
Experience
- 2\+ years of investment tax experience within public accounting, corporate tax, or financial services.
- Exposure to investment taxation or corporate tax rules is advantageous.
Certifications
- CPA license or active progress toward certification is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with large datasets.
- Experience with tax compliance or provision software is beneficial.
- Familiarity with investment accounting systems or automation tools is a plus.
