The impact you will make:

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Director, Biostatistics, to join our growing Biometrics team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who’s driven to connect to our mission of helping these patient communities. The Director will serve as the lead statistician for assigned clinical development programs, leading the development and implementation of statistical solutions to support all phases of clinical trials, regulatory filing and facilitating decision-making. The Director will supervise study-level statisticians both in-house and at Contract Research Organizations (CROs), ensuring accountability for all biostatistics deliverables.

What you will do:

  • Contribute to the development of clinical development plans and ensure that clinical development programs meet scientific, regulatory, and quality requirements.
  • Lead the biometrics team in all aspects associated with regulatory interactions/submission and develop strategies to address health authorities' inquiries pertaining to biometrics.
  • Provide scientifically rigorous statistical input and review for protocols, statistical analysis plans, interpretation of statistical results, and scientific publications.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, effective, and timely study- or program-level statistical deliverables for assigned projects.
  • Develop and/or implement innovative statistical approaches to enhance study design, analysis and data exploration methodologies.
  • Manage and/or mentor junior statisticians to foster their professional growth.
  • Promote effective collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and Agios standards across all study or program-level statistical activities.
  • Support establishment and maintenance of biometrics standards at Agios.
  • Serve as a comprehensive resource for clinical development and statistical matters.

What you bring:

  • PhD in Biostatistics or related discipline with 7\+ years biopharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience in a program/lead statistician role (3\+ years)
  • Experience with regulatory submissions
  • Experience representing biostatistics in interactions with health authorities
  • Fluent with statistical software including SAS, R, EAST, and nQuery
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Work Location:

Location Agnostic: Work location for this role is based on employee's individual preference. This role has the ability to be either remote in the US or hybrid in our Cambridge Headquarters. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite and hybrid employees are expected to live within commutable distance of our Cambridge Headquarters. Remote employees work entirely from home except for attending Company sponsored events/ meetings. For employees who choose to work remotely, travel may be required for certain company events commensurate with the above job description.

  • The current base salary range for this position is expected to be between $183,000 and $275,000 annualized; final salary will be determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, years of relevant experience, job knowledge, skills and proficiency, degree/education, and internal comparators.
