About the Opportunity

Elk River Recruiting is partnering with a growing commercial construction firm in the Raleigh area seeking a Project Manager to lead ground-up and large-scale renovation projects, with a focus on hospitality construction.

This role is ideal for someone who brings a strong combination of

field experience and technical understanding of construction processes

, and who can confidently manage projects from early planning through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from pre-construction through closeout
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, and subcontractor coordination
  • Collaborate closely with Superintendents and field teams
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project reporting
  • Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders and leadership

Qualifications

  • 7\+ years of experience in commercial construction
  • Demonstrated experience managing ground-up or large-scale commercial projects, typically in the

$10M\+ range or 50,000\+ sqft.

  • Strong field background (Superintendent or Foreman experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and project planning
  • Experience with construction management software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Preferred Background

  • Experience in hospitality or hotel construction
  • Exposure to technical or design-related aspects of construction (e.g., engineering coordination, project planning, or similar)
  • Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven project environments
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus, but not required
