We’re hiring an
Engineering Director
to take ownership of day-to-day technical operations and the successful deployment of new products across the business.
Reporting to the
CTO
, you’ll effectively take on a portion of the CTO’s ongoing operational responsibilities, freeing them up to focus on
new product development
and
strategic customer relationships
. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can bring structure, pace, and reliability to engineering delivery.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Own the
day-to-day running of engineering
: delivery cadence, prioritisation, incident/issue management, and operational decision-making.
- Lead
new product deployments
end-to-end: release planning, readiness, coordination, and post-release follow-through.
- Translate CTO direction into
clear execution plans
and keep teams aligned to timelines and outcomes.
- Strengthen engineering
ways of working
: planning rituals, documentation, change control, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure engineering teams deliver with high standards across
quality, security, performance, and reliability
.
- Partner closely with Product and other stakeholders to balance
speed vs. risk
and keep delivery predictable.
- Build a culture of accountability, clarity, and pragmatic problem-solving.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience leading engineering teams as an
Engineering Director / Head of Engineering / Senior Engineering Manager
(or similar).
- Strong track record of owning
technical operations
and improving delivery reliability.
- Demonstrated experience managing
release/deployment processes
and driving smooth product rollouts.
- Comfortable acting as the CTO’s operational counterpart: you can make decisions, unblock teams, and keep execution moving.
- Excellent stakeholder management—able to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
- A practical leadership style: you bring structure without bureaucracy.
