Director of Engineering

Insight Global is seeking a Director of Platform Engineering to lead the strategy, architecture, delivery, and operational excellence of a large-scale consumer streaming and membership platform. This individual will oversee the core backend services that power video delivery, subscriber identity, authentication, entitlements, commerce integrations, rewards experiences, personalization, and cloud infrastructure across web, mobile, connected TV, and partner ecosystems.

On a day-to-day basis, they will lead teams of platform, backend, cloud, and DevOps engineers while driving technical roadmaps, platform modernization initiatives, reliability improvements, and cloud optimization efforts. They will partner closely with Product, Architecture, Security, Data, QA, Content Operations, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available solutions that support subscriber growth and customer engagement. This person will also establish engineering standards, advance developer productivity through automation and self-service tooling, improve platform observability and operational readiness, and help shape the long-term technology strategy for the streaming platform.

Must Have:

• 10\+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure, or cloud engineering experience building the core technology that powers the consumer facing streaming platform
• 5\+ years of engineering leadership experience managing third party engineers, architects, technical leads
• Background supporting connected TV, SVOD, OTT and subscription based streaming applications
• Strong experience designing and operating cloud-native platforms within AWS environments
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, service reliability, and observability
• Hands-on experience with modern DevOps practices including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, Kubernetes, automated testing, and release automation
• Proven background supporting high-availability consumer-facing digital platforms within streaming, OTT, direct-to-consumer, subscription, membership, eCommerce, or SaaS environments
• Experience building and scaling backend services that support identity management, authentication, entitlements, subscription management, personalization, and customer experiences
• Strong knowledge of platform security, privacy, compliance, access controls, incident management, disaster recovery, and operational risk management
• Experience with video streaming technologies, playback services, DRM, CDNs, media services, and encoding/transcoding workflows
• Experience with loyalty/rewards programs, customer data platforms (CDPs), personalization, recommendations, and analytics platforms

Compensation

:

Up to $200,000 annually.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
