A well-established and growing manufacturer in the metals fabrication industry is seeking a
Director of Engineering
to lead and elevate its engineering function. This leadership role will oversee a team of engineers while driving process improvements, manufacturing innovation, and engineering excellence across the operation.
The organization is investing in the next phase of its manufacturing evolution and is looking for a
hands-on engineering leader
capable of solving complex process challenges and taking manufacturing standards to the next level.
Key Responsibilities
- MUST HAVE STAMPINGS EXPERIENCE AND STRONG TOOL and DIE BACKGROUND
- Lead and develop a
team of 5 engineers in hands-on fashion
, fostering a high-performance engineering culture
- Drive
continuous improvement initiatives
across manufacturing processes and production systems
- Identify and solve
process engineering challenges
related to metals fabrication operations
- Improve
manufacturing standards, process capability, and operational efficiency
- Collaborate closely with operations, manufacturing leadership, and plant management
- Evaluate and optimize
tooling, equipment, and production workflows
- Ensure engineering practices support
quality, safety, and cost targets
- Support the introduction of
new products, equipment upgrades, and manufacturing technologies
Qualifications:
I
ndustry Experience
Strong background in
steel or metals manufacturing/fabrication or automotive industry or any industry that involves stamping and tool and die.
Leadership
Experience leading or managing engineering teams
Technical Expertise
Deep understanding of
metals manufacturing processes, tooling, and production equipment
Blueprint Reading
Ability to
read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Problem Solving
Proven ability to
diagnose and solve complex manufacturing/process engineering issues
Continuous Improvement
Experience improving
manufacturing standards, productivity, and process capability
Education
Engineering degree preferred (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related)
