The Director owns engineering portfolio and resource management across multiple disciplines and sites, leading through functional managers responsible for Design Engineering, Product Testing, and Fixture Engineering. This role includes direct leadership of the Fixture Design Engineering team and indirect oversight of broader engineering functions. The Director is accountable for building a scalable, disciplined engineering organization that supports long-term growth.
Ideal candidates should have a thorough knowledge of:
Product \& Production processes, ERP systems, Bill of Material structure (BOM) , CAD, Industrial and consumer products manufacturing, Automotive aftermarket industry, QA techniques, and tools such as statistical process control, 8-D problem solving techniques, product testing and an understanding of LEAN principles \& organizational procedures.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead global engineering and strategy and vision.
- Manage engineers and product managers to meet client and stakeholder needs.
- Drive product development to meet revenue goals and ensure timely approvals.
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and reliability standards.
- Optimize manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Implement cost-saving measures.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing on design optimizations.
- Lead personnel management and talent development.
- Maintain and update design standards; protect technical information.
- Stay current on relevant technologies.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Support capital equipment needs.
- Travel as required to sites and customer locations.
- Foster positive impact across stakeholders.
