The Director of NPI will be responsible for growing, managing and mentoring the engineers and will assist our business development team by bringing in projects and helping in making decisions that we present to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, guide, manage and support engineering activities and NPI projects.
  • Ensure manufacturing process optimization, capacity utilization, energy consumption and waste

reduction.

  • Provide leadership for lean strategies and activities.
  • Partner with production and engineering areas to conduct technical training and introduce new

processes.

  • Create/design and manage requirements for systems and drive development from start to

completion.

  • Support the team in day-to-day operations while improving or create engineering processes.
  • Represent engineering in cross-functional projects and to the company at large.
  • Early project interface, quotation support, vendor sourcing and development.
  • Onboarding new projects and timely product launches.
  • Utilize Design for manufacturing techniques to evaluate \& suggest improvements to current designs

for future revisions.

  • Early collaboration with design engineering to incorporate optimal manufacturing methods throughout concept, development \& launch phases of NPI’s.

Qualifications

  • BS in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Operations/Manufacturing Systems;
  • Related experience in a Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment, manufacturing engineering, PCBAs, cable assemblies, plastics and metal processes, ISO cleanroom processes and, ISO 13485
  • Previous experience working in a Medical Device company with high mix, low volume vertically integrated facility preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with lean strategies.
  • Proven engineering project management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD system.
