Asset Manager / Director of Operations

📍 Hartford County, CT (In-Office)

A privately held commercial real estate owner-operator is seeking an experienced Asset Manager / Director of Operations to oversee a portfolio of grocery-anchored retail centers and commercial assets across Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.

This is a senior leadership role within a stable, family office-backed platform offering meaningful responsibility, direct access to ownership, and long-term growth opportunity.

The firm is a privately owned commercial real estate investment and operating platform focused primarily on grocery-anchored retail centers.

The portfolio includes 10\+ shopping centers and additional commercial properties throughout the Northeast. The organization operates with a lean team structure, hands-on ownership, and a long-term investment philosophy.

The Role

This position will report directly to ownership and oversee operational performance, asset strategy, and lender relationships across the portfolio.

The ideal candidate is a strong operator who can balance financial oversight, tenant relations, and day-to-day portfolio management in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee operational and financial performance of a retail portfolio
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and NOI management
  • Prepare and present lender packages; interface with banks and capital partners
  • Support refinancing and capital structuring initiatives
  • Oversee lease administration and tenant performance
  • Manage vendor relationships and maintenance oversight
  • Conduct site visits and ensure asset-level execution
  • Partner closely with ownership on portfolio strategy

Ideal Qualifications

  • 8–15\+ years of commercial real estate experience
  • Retail asset management experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working directly with lenders and financial reporting
  • Strong budgeting and financial analysis capabilities
  • Comfortable working in an in-office, hands-on setting
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and operationally strong
