Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Development Engineer who loves turning complex requirements into smart, reliable and manufacturable mechanical solutions. In this role you will design, develop and industrialise mechanical subsystems for high‑tech machines — from the first concept all the way to release for production. You work closely with colleagues across engineering disciplines and play a key role in delivering high‑quality, first‑time‑right designs.

Your main focus will be

  • Translate customer and product requirements into clear mechanical concepts and specifications.
  • Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings and complete BOMs.
  • Perform mechanical analyses (strength, stiffness, lifetime, DFMEA, manufacturability, assembly, serviceability).
  • Collaborate with Electrical/Software, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Service.
  • Support prototype builds, V\&V activities and (i)FAT testing.
  • Manage engineering changes (ECR/ECO) and maintain configuration and version control.
  • Document designs according to QMS and CE/Machinery Directive requirements.
  • Deliver complete design packages ready for procurement and manufacturing.
  • Own subsystem architecture, concept decisions and design strategy.
  • Lead design reviews and make fact‑based technical decisions.
  • Build and maintain DFMEA/risk files including NVH, wear and safety aspects.
  • Drive manufacturability, co‑engineering with suppliers, cost optimisation and standardisation.
  • Mentor junior/medior engineers and guide external engineering partners.
  • Advise project management on scope, planning and risks.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
  • Experience in machine building/mechatronics; 7–12\+ years for Senior level.
  • Strong skills in 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks \& PDM).
  • Excellent understanding of GD\&T, tolerance stack‑ups, materials and basic CAE/FEA.
  • Experience with DFMEA, verification planning and CE/Machinery Directive documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders. Proven experience in technical leadership or coaching is a pre.
  • Structured, first‑time‑right mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers on manufacturability and cost improvements.
