Chief Technology Officer

Our client, a well-funded technology company backed by major UAE investment, is establishing its US hub in New York and hiring a CTO to lead the build.

This is a rare 0 to 1 leadership opportunity with the risk profile of a scale-up rather than a startup. The funding is secured through the parent group, the product vision is set, and the mandate is clear. Build the US technology organisation from the ground up. You'll be the most senior technical hire in the country, reporting directly into group leadership.

What you'll do:

• Own the full technology strategy for the US business, including architecture, stack, build vs buy decisions and the AI roadmap from day one
• Hire and lead the founding engineering team in New York, setting the standard for how the company builds
• This is a hands-on leadership role in its first phase and you'll be in the code and the architecture before you're in the boardroom
• Act as the technical voice of the US business with the parent group, investors and early enterprise clients

What we're looking for:

• A proven track record building and scaling production systems, ideally including ML or LLM products, as a founding engineer, VP Engineering or CTO
• Experience growing an engineering team from first hires to a functioning org, and the judgement to know what to build now versus later
• Commercial instinct. You're comfortable in front of clients and leadership, and able to translate technical decisions into business outcomes
• Someone energised by ambiguity. No legacy stack, no inherited team, full ownership with the resources of an established, well-funded group behind you
• NYC based or committed to relocating. US work authorisation required
