This role will report into the Finance Director – Iberia, with accountability for accuracy and completeness of accounting matters for Iberia in conjunction with the EFSSC and in respect of the internal financial control environment. The successful candidate will have broad finance operations Experience, strong accounting technical knowledge.

This role is a hybrid role based 3 days per week from our office in Madrid.

Summary of role

The Financial Controller for Iberia is responsible for the accuracy, integrity and compliance of all financial reporting across Spain and Portugal. Acting as the key link between the Iberia business and the European Finance Shared Services Centre, this role ensures strong financial controls, high-quality reporting and effective coordination across R2R, P2P, O2C and Tax. It’s a hands-on position that combines technical expertise with close business partnering.

What I will be doing

You’ll oversee statutory and regional reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with Spanish GAAP, Portuguese GAAP and IFRS. You’ll support monthly performance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, providing clear insights to Iberia leadership and Finance Business Partners.

You’ll own the internal control framework for the region, strengthen balance sheet governance and ensure revenue recognition processes align with Group policy. Managing cash flow and working capital performance will be a key focus, working closely with operational teams to improve discipline and results.

The role also includes leading statutory and external audits, acting as the main contact for auditors and regulatory bodies, coordinating indirect tax obligations, and supporting local tax matters. You’ll partner closely with the Shared Services Centre to monitor service levels, resolve issues and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for a technically strong Financial Controller with at least five years’ post-qualified experience in Spanish GAAP and solid IFRS knowledge. You’ll be fluent in English, confident working in a global, matrixed organisation and comfortable partnering with both finance and operational leaders.

Strong systems knowledge, particularly ERP platforms and Excel, is essential. You should be hands-on, detail-oriented and commercially aware, with the ability to translate accounting into practical insight. Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset and a commitment to strengthening controls and processes will be key to success in this role.
