JOB SUMMARY
The Product Owner - Finance reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the ongoing development and improvement of financial planning, reporting, and analytics capabilities across the enterprise. This role acts as the primary point of accountability for FP\&A product delivery — owning the backlog, partnering with FP\&A and Technology stakeholders, and ensuring that system enhancements and integrations are delivered accurately and on time. The Manager translates business requirements into actionable work, collaborates closely with the CFO and IT to drive system changes and upgrades, and tracks outcomes to ensure delivered solutions create lasting value for the Finance organization
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to and maintain the product roadmap for FP\&A systems and capabilities — including reporting, dashboards, and cross-company integrations — in alignment with FP\&A objectives.
- Partner with the CFO and Finance leadership to translate strategic goals into a prioritized, actionable backlog, and serve as the day-to-day owner of roadmap execution.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Technology, and external finance partners to align product strategy, reporting requirements, and data integration priorities.
- Build strong, ongoing relationships across the organization to ensure short- and long-term product goals are well understood and supported.
- Serve as the primary business owner for FP\&A system configuration changes, upgrades, and enhancements. Lead cross-functional workstreams involving IT and other departments, ensuring timely, accurate delivery while maintaining long-term product integrity.
- Uphold product ownership standards across the entire delivery life cycle, review and accept completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and business requirements before deployment.
- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
- Define and track KPIs such as reporting cycle time, data accuracy, and adoption rates, using those insights to continuously sharpen the product roadmap and measure post-release effectiveness.
Equivalent Education Level Required:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications such as CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, PMP are a plus
Experience Required
: 3\+ years in FP\&A, financial reporting, accounting or closely related role, with at least 2 years in product management, product owner or business analyst capacity. Demonstrated experience managing across stakeholders, including senior leadership. Experience leading cross-functional workstreams with IT on system configurations, integrations, or technology implementations. Proven track record driving a full product feature lifecycle or product launch from requirements through post-release monitoring. Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and product lifecycle management tools such as Jira, Rally, or equivalent. Experience conducting A/B testing or user testing to validate product decisions.
Knowledge Required:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex financial and technical concepts to diverse audiences. Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic, high-volume, and evolving environment. Proficiency with collaboration tools including Rally, MS Teams, Zoom, and SharePoint. MS Office proficiency — intermediate to advanced (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with SAFe 2\.5/4\.0 methodology and associated certifications highly desirable. Understanding of GAAP, financial close processes, and management reporting standards. Proficiency with BI and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Hyperion, Workday Adaptive, or equivalent). Experience working within a complex, multi-entity corporate structure with cross-company reporting and data integration requirements is strongly preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish is a plus.
