In most weeks, you'll deliver focused intervention sessions. During the rest, you'll facilitate brief motivational touchpoints that keep students engaged and meeting targets. What You Will Be Doing

• Plan and facilitate virtual small-group and individual reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8
• Leverage reading assessment data to identify fluency and comprehension weaknesses and modify instruction in real time
• Adapt activities across varied reading levels, including accommodations for dyslexia and associated reading challenges
• Monitor progress systematically and consistently, using the information to inform future sessions
• Conduct structured motivational touchpoints that foster confidence, determination, and pride in student development

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Deliver large, whole-group lessons or present from a static curriculum
• Execute a pre-written program without responding to student needs and immediate feedback
• Serve as a passive "software supervisor" lacking meaningful instruction and rapport
• Depend on superficial incentives that fail to cultivate enduring motivation

Virtual Reading Specialist Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—by providing customized virtual interventions and motivational guidance that fosters confidence.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a closely related field
• Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K-12 or equivalent state certification)
• Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or related structured literacy approaches)
• At least 2 years of experience delivering small-group or one-on-one reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
• Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
• Ability to interpret progress monitoring data and use it to plan and adjust instruction
• Strong ability to engage and manage students in a virtual setting through clear, motivating communication
• Available to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona as needed.
