The Opportunity
Saddle Point is seeking a Marketing Manager to lead the firm’s investor relations and capital raising efforts. We plan to launch our core Optima fund to outside investors by the end of 2026\. This individual will own the full marketing function, manage a junior analyst, and serve as the firm’s primary day-to-day point of contact for prospective and existing investors. The role reports directly to the CEO and Managing Member.
This is an ideal position for a professional with at least 3–5 years of experience in investment fund marketing, investor relations, or capital introduction—someone who has been part of a marketing team at a buyside shop or has covered equity long/short managers from a bank cap intro desk and is ready to take ownership of a function at a high-conviction emerging manager. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the firm’s allocator outreach strategy across high-net-worth family offices, institutional allocators, wealth management platforms, fund of funds, and pension/endowment consultants.
The Marketing Manager will market across the full product set, including the core fund and current and future SPVs. This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity to build the marketing function at a firm with an established investment process, robust infrastructure, and a strong pipeline of investable strategies.
The successful candidate will combine deep familiarity with the family office and institutional allocator landscape with strong organizational skills and genuine interpersonal warmth. This person should understand how allocators evaluate and diligence equity long/short managers, be comfortable preparing and presenting marketing materials, and have the judgment to represent Saddle Point with professionalism and credibility in front of sophisticated investors.
Responsibilities
- Devise and execute Saddle Point’s marketing and capital raising strategy, including identification and prioritization of target allocators, conference participation, and direct outreach campaigns
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing investors across all channels including family offices, institutional allocators, wealth management platforms, fund of funds, and consultants
- Prepare, revise, and present standard and bespoke marketing materials including pitch books, DDQs, monthly/quarterly letters, and ad hoc investor communications
- Lead institutional mandate applications and manage the full RFP response process
- Build and maintain the firm’s CRM database; manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly marketing-related workflow and pipeline reporting
- Manage and develop a junior Marketing Operations Support Analyst
- Coordinate with the firm’s CCO on marketing compliance review, advertising rule requirements, and investor communication approvals; assist with investor onboarding documentation and side letter tracking as needed
- Work closely with the CEO, CFO, and CCO to align marketing strategy with firm priorities and ensure consistent investor messaging
- Support capital raising for both the core fund and SPV co-investment vehicles, adapting messaging and materials for the distinct characteristics of each product
- Track industry trends, competitor positioning, and allocator sentiment to inform marketing strategy and materials
Qualifications
- At least 3–5 years of professional experience in hedge fund marketing/investor relations, capital introduction (bank or third-party), prime brokerage sales, fund administration client service, or a closely related allocator-facing role
- Direct experience working with or marketing equity long/short strategies strongly preferred; familiarity with, long-leaning, activist or engagement-oriented investment strategies is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with institutional allocators
- Strong knowledge of the institutional due diligence process, including DDQ preparation, operational due diligence requirements, and RFP response management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate investment processes and portfolio positioning clearly and concisely
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Backstop, or similar)
- Experience managing internal business workflows and coordinating across compliance, operations, and investment functions
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with fund performance data, attribution, and risk metrics
- Exceptional organizational skills and painstaking attention to detail
- Positivity, a combination of formality and warmth, and the ability to represent the firm with credibility in front of sophisticated investors
Experience and Education
- At least 3–5 years of relevant work experience required (hedge fund marketing/IR, capital introduction, prime brokerage, or fund allocator role)
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, economics, business, marketing, communications, or related field
- CAIA, CFA (or progress toward), or Series 7/63 designations are a plus but not required
- Knowledge of and personal interest in financial markets and the equity long/short investment landscape
Compensation
- Base salary range $120,000-$220,000\+ depending on experience and fit.
- Health benefits, 401(k) and other benefits available.
We operate from a single office located in midtown Manhattan, NY.
