Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Internal Audit Manager to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance, evaluating financial practices, and improving operational efficiencies within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proven track record in conducting audits, building relationships, and driving organizational improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of costs and revenues associated with contractors, subcontractors, and customers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Utilize work-in-progress methodologies to identify revenue sources and liabilities.
- Assess risks and evaluate controls by performing contract, division, region, and business process audits.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing audit findings and present them to management.
- Provide actionable recommendations to enhance and strengthen control procedures.
- Collaborate with operations and company leadership to monitor the implementation of action plans.
- Lead the planning, scoping, and execution of audits, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up.
- Draft detailed working papers, including risk assessments and control matrices, to document audit processes.
- Support the US Head of Audit by undertaking special assignments as needed.
- Foster effective relationships with project teams and departments to promote company values and customer satisfaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably within the construction or contracting industry.
- Proficiency in audit programs, internal controls, and risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for preparing reports and presenting findings.
- Familiarity with audit committee processes and corporate internal audit standards.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time as required.
- Commitment to ongoing growth and development through continuous training and seminars.
