Position Summary

East West Event Services is a local, trusted leader for event technology support in the region. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Part-Time Event AV Technician to support the preparation, setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual systems for live events. This is a client-facing role requiring a professional appearance, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional event experiences.

The Event AV Technician works closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Live Events to ensure every event runs smoothly and exceeds client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients, venue staff, and team members to confirm event setup, flow, and timing
• Deliver excellent customer service through clear, professional communication
• Interpret event orders and production details to determine equipment needs and execution plans
• Set up, operate, and strike audiovisual equipment including audio, video, and lighting systems
• Perform pre-event checks and on-site quality assurance to ensure seamless execution
• Troubleshoot AV and technical issues efficiently and calmly during events
• Load, transport, and unload equipment from company vehicles
• Maintain, organize, and care for AV equipment
• Collaborate with team members to execute high-quality events
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• Assist with additional production-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AV equipment such as Allen and Heath audio mixers, Shure wired and wireless microphones, Epson projectors, and HD/4K video systems
• Proficiency with Windows computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and other related software
• Technical understanding of signal flow, video formats, and audio fundamentals
• Experience with lighting, projection, LED video walls, or live streaming is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work a variety of hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Valid driver’s license required
• Prior live event experience preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs
• Push and maneuver rolling equipment cases
• Bend, kneel, and work on the floor to install and secure cables
• Load and unload equipment from vans or trucks
• Work on ladders and elevated platforms when required
• Use basic tools for setup and breakdown of equipment

Pay: $20\.00 - $25\.00 per hour
