Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Install, program, commission, and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (HVAC controls, sensors, controllers, networks, etc.).

Work with platforms such as Siemens, Reliable and optionally Tridium/Niagara.

Perform field programming of DDC controllers and front-end graphics as required.

Integrate BAS with mechanical, electrical, and IT systems.

Conduct system testing, verification, and functional performance checks.

Diagnose and resolve system communication issues (BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, IP networks).

Read and interpret engineering documentation (control drawings, sequences of operations, wiring diagrams).

Coordinate with mechanical contractors, electricians, facility staff, and project managers.

Provide technical support, system optimization, and ongoing service for installed systems.

Ensure all work meets safety, code, and quality standards.

Required Experience \& Skills

3\+ years of hands-on BAS experience in commercial, hospital, or pharmaceutical environments.

Strong background with Siemens or reliable systems.

Tridium/Niagara experience strongly preferred.

Proficient in programming, configuring, and commissioning DDC controllers.

Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC controls and network communication issues.

Experience installing end devices (sensors, actuators, VFDs, thermostats).

Ability to work from wiring diagrams and control schematics.

Familiarity with BACnet and/or other building automation communication protocols.

Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites around the Chicago area.

Preferred Qualifications

Niagara N4 certification

Experience in regulated environments (GMP, FDA, pharma)

IT/networking skills (switches, routers, IP addressing, VLANs)
