This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a DBA Claims Administrator based in the United States.
This remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced claims professional with expertise in workers' compensation and international injury claims administration. The role plays a critical part in supporting the effective management of Defense Base Act (DBA) and maritime claims, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and coordination with multiple stakeholders. Working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will partner with occupational health teams, insurance administrators, HR, and legal professionals to manage claims processes from initiation through documentation and follow-up. Accountabilities
- Support the administration and management of Defense Base Act (DBA) and maritime injury and illness claims, ensuring timely reporting to third-party administrators and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate closely with claims leadership, occupational health teams, HR, legal departments, and insurance partners to coordinate claims activities and case management strategies.
- Participate in claims investigations and assist in developing action plans for complex cases.
- Prepare, review, and distribute claim-related documentation, including reports, correspondence, forms, and regulatory submissions.
- Establish and maintain claims records within claims management systems, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
- Review claim submissions, verify information, and determine appropriate policy coverage related to reported incidents.
- Process incoming communications and provide administrative support through filing, documentation management, and record maintenance.
- Contribute to organizational injury management programs and support continuous improvement initiatives related to claims administration.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Typically 3-5 years of workers' compensation claims experience, with Defense Base Act (DBA) experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of claims administration processes, insurance reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Experience working with third-party administrators, claims adjusters, and insurance partners.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, risk management software, or other claims management platforms is preferred.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to changing processes and priorities.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
