Job Description:

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer certified in Epic Cogito to play a key role in delivering analytics insights and building data solutions that support both clinical and business operations. This individual will collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, and design, develop, and maintain complex reports and databases.

This role requires a subject matter expert in Epic who can develop data solutions using Epic databases (Chronicles, Clarity, Caboodle) and the Cogito suite of tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Configure and test Epic-released and Foundation System content across applications, including Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar, and Cogito SQL
• Develop content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle
• Write SQL and configure Radar settings for custom SQL-based metrics
• Modify and enhance existing reports
• Distribute analytics content to end users and data consumers
• Review peer-developed reports to ensure accuracy and validity
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand reporting needs
• Maintain the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata
• Perform testing in designated environments, including volume testing in production
• Review upgrade documentation related to Cogito features and implement necessary updates
• Build and maintain data structures including cubes, extracts, SlicerDicer custom filters, third-party BI tools, and Caboodle data assets
• Identify business and technical impacts of user requirements
• Take ownership of the quality and delivery of BI solutions
• Develop ad hoc queries, data sources, and reports to support business needs
• Utilize the Cogito toolset to deliver comprehensive data solutions
• Provide production support and respond to inquiries related to BI tools and the Cogito suite
• Mentor and guide junior developers

Qualifications:

• 4\+ years of recent experience in healthcare or IT
• 3\+ years of experience with BI reporting tools
• 3\+ years of hands-on SQL experience, including writing complex, optimized queries across large datasets, database design, data warehousing, performance tuning, and stored procedures
• Strong understanding of BI reporting best practices
• Experience across the full report development lifecycle for medium to large-scale projects
• Training in report design fundamentals for third-party reporting tools
• Proven ability to work with end users to understand workflows and present meaningful data insights
• Required certifications:
• Cogito Fundamentals
• Cogito Tools Administration
• Completion of Caboodle-Clarity Development coursework
• Preferred badges: Radar SQL Metrics, SlicerDicer Custom Build, Cogito SQL

Education Requirements:

• Required:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics, information systems, or statistics

• Preferred:

Advanced degree
