Position Summary

The HR Analyst (Manufacturing) is a hands-on HR professional who ensures day-to-day HR operations run accurately and compliantly in a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment. This role owns critical processes across payroll, time \& attendance, benefits administration, compliance (FMLA/ADA), HR systems (HRIS), and reporting.

Partnering closely with the HR Director and plant leadership, the HR Analyst uses strong technical and analytical skills to improve workforce processes, strengthen compliance, and provide data-driven insights that support production goals and workforce stability.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll, Timekeeping \& Workforce Transactions

  • Own end-to-end payroll administration, partnering with payroll providers to ensure accurate, timely processing for hourly and salaried employees
  • Manage time \& attendance processes (timeclock rules, shift differentials, job transfers, PTO, call-ins, edits, approvals) to support multi-shift operations
  • Audit timekeeping and payroll data regularly (overtime, missed punches, premiums, shift patterns) and resolve discrepancies quickly
  • Ensure accurate HRIS records for hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, and job/compensation changes

Benefits Administration \& Employee Support

  • Administer benefits programs for plant employees, including enrollments, changes, audits, and vendor coordination
  • Serve as a resource to employees and supervisors on benefits questions, leave processes, and HR operational procedures
  • Support annual open enrollment and benefits communications tailored to an hourly manufacturing workforce

Compliance, Leaves \& Documentation

  • Manage and track FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other leaves with consistent documentation and timely communication
  • Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws, attendance policies, and internal controls related to payroll/timekeeping
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining organized records and reporting

HR Systems, Reporting \& Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain and optimize HRIS and timekeeping systems (e.g., SAP, ADP, UKG or equivalent), ensuring data integrity and accurate reporting
  • Produce workforce reporting (headcount, overtime, absenteeism, turnover, attendance trends, staffing metrics) to support plant performance
  • Identify process gaps and lead improvements that reduce errors, increase efficiency, and improve employee experience on the floor
  • Provide insights and recommendations to HR Director and plant leaders to support workforce planning and staffing strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in HR operations, payroll, HRIS, or time \& attendance—manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Proven knowledge of payroll administration, benefits programs, and compliance requirements (FMLA, ADA, wage and hour, etc.)
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and timekeeping systems (e.g., SAP, ADP, UKG, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills—able to translate workforce data into actionable recommendations
  • High attention to detail with strong follow-through in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work effectively with hourly employees, supervisors, and plant leadership across multiple shifts
  • Discretion and professionalism handling sensitive employee and payroll information

Work Environment

  • On-site role supporting a multi-shift manufacturing facility
  • Frequent interaction with production supervisors and hourly employees; must be comfortable working in a plant environment
