What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate for this position is familiar with the HVAC (Heating/Cooling) industry with strong experience in related products, test standards and laboratory test environments. They are experienced in people management, possess strong interpersonal skills and can analyze a situation to create recommendations for team processes. They have a strong engineering background along with good communication skills and an aptitude for attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Product Managers and Research and Development teams in the development of new HVAC products and refinement of existing products
• Develop and oversee test plans for safety and efficiency certifications
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to develop product monitoring and return product testing procedures
• Oversee development of technical documents such as manuals, specification sheets, etc.
• Keep up to date with local, federal, and certification agency regulatory and standard changes
• Update the organization on changing technology trends so that the organization can prepare and regulate business plans accordingly
• Provide engineering support to sales representatives, installers, contractors, distributors, engineers and architects to ensure product installation compliance to company/code standards
• Actively engage with industry groups such as AHRI and ASHRAE
• Proven ability to lead, influence, mentor and motivate employees to achieve personal and departmental goals
• Responsible for hiring, training and development of team members

Requirements:

• Engineering degree from an accredited college/university
• 7-10 years of experience in the HVAC industry, with a strong understanding of HVAC systems, technology and certification processes
• Experience in a technical leadership role
• Experience in a lab testing environment
• Strong collaboration skills and a solid team player
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Able to manage productivity goals and quality standards
• Excellent attention to detail
• Occasional off-site visits for certification testing or R\&D
• Experience in developing performance metrics

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of HVAC design and application tools
• Ability to travel nationally and international
• Global experience

Pay Scale: $290,000 - $310,000 annually (DOE) \+ eligible for an annual bonus
