Position Overview

Illumination PR is seeking an ambitious and relationship-driven Business Development Manager to identify, cultivate, and close new business opportunities within the healthcare sector.

This role is responsible for generating new client relationships with physicians, medical practices, specialty clinics, multi-location medical groups, healthcare organizations, and medical technology companies seeking to grow their visibility and authority through earned media and thought leadership.

The ideal candidate understands healthcare decision-making, enjoys building relationships, and has a proven ability to identify opportunities, communicate value, and drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within physician practices, medical groups, healthcare organizations, and medical technology companies.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects through outreach, networking, referrals, industry events, and strategic partnerships.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand prospect goals, challenges, growth objectives, and marketing needs.
  • Present Illumination PR's healthcare public relations and thought leadership services to prospective clients.
  • Develop customized proposals and solutions that align with client growth objectives.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution and onboarding.
  • Build relationships with physicians, practice administrators, healthcare executives, marketing leaders, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership and client service teams to ensure seamless transitions from sales to client delivery.
  • Track activities, pipeline development, and revenue performance using systems and reporting tools.
  • Stay informed on healthcare industry trends, media trends, physician marketing strategies, and competitive activity.

Qualifications

  • Proven success in business development, sales, or account growth within healthcare, healthcare marketing, healthcare services, medical technology, or professional services.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to communicate value and build trust with physician and executive-level audiences.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare market dynamics and physician practice operations is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with healthcare providers, medical groups, hospitals, healthcare vendors, or healthcare marketing organizations is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, sales reporting, and pipeline management.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
