The Opportunity
We’re hiring an
Email Marketing Developer
to support a fast-paced lifecycle and CRM program for a high-volume U.S.-based DTC eCommerce brand — owning the technical build and deployment of email and SMS campaigns in Iterable, including one-time sends, triggered flows, and multi-channel Journey configurations with conditional branching and personalization logic. You’ll write and maintain Handlebar templating for dynamic content, QA campaigns for rendering and logic accuracy, manage image assets in AWS, and pull and organize performance data across Iterable, Mixpanel, Looker, and Google Sheets into recurring reports and stakeholder presentations. This role calls for a highly detail-oriented technical executor who follows established SOPs with consistency, flags issues early, and thrives managing multiple active projects in a fast-moving environment.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
- Campaign Build \& Deployment:
Build and deploy email and SMS campaigns in Iterable — including one-time sends, triggered lifecycle flows, and Journey configurations with entry/exit conditions, conditional branching logic, holdout groups, and multi-channel sequencing.
- Handlebar Templating \& Personalization:
Write and maintain Handlebar logic for dynamic content, conditional messaging, and personalization using customer and event data — ensuring templates are accurate, maintainable, and render correctly across email clients and devices.
- QA \& Asset Management:
QA campaigns and flows for rendering accuracy, logic integrity, link functionality, and audience targeting; host and organize image assets in AWS for use across email templates.
- Performance Reporting:
Pull and organize campaign performance data from Iterable, Mixpanel, Looker, and Google Sheets; build and maintain reporting dashboards and recurring performance reports for internal stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Presentations:
Assemble and update presentation materials in Google Slides for internal stakeholder reviews; communicate proactively with internal teams via Slack and Gmail, escalating issues or discrepancies promptly.
- SOP Adherence:
Follow established SOPs for campaign builds, QA, and reporting with consistency — flagging blockers, edge cases, or process gaps proactively before they become downstream problems.
What You Bring
- Iterable or ESP Platform Experience:
2\+ years working directly in Iterable or a comparable email marketing automation platform such as Klaviyo or Salesforce Marketing Cloud — direct Iterable experience is strongly preferred; strong understanding of Journey configuration, conditional branching, and customer event triggers is required.
- Templating Language Proficiency:
Proficiency in Handlebar templating or a comparable language such as Liquid or AMPScript for dynamic content, conditional logic, and personalization — paired with basic to intermediate HTML/CSS for template edits including fonts, images, headers, and links.
- Segmentation \& Data Fluency:
Comfortable building audience segments using customer data attributes and behavioral signals; functional proficiency in Mixpanel and Looker for data pulls and performance analysis, and in Google Sheets for data organization, pivot tables, and report assembly.
- Detail Orientation \& Process Discipline:
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable — able to follow repeatable processes with consistency, manage multiple active projects with shifting priorities, and communicate clearly and proactively in an asynchronous, cross-time-zone environment.
- AWS Familiarity \& Availability:
Familiarity with AWS for image hosting and asset management (training can be provided); must be available to work PST hours.
Bonus Points if:
- You have experience with Airtable or similar task and ticket management tools.
- You have familiarity with additional ESPs such as Klaviyo, Braze, or HubSpot as transferable platform experience.
