About the Role

As an

Arts Research Associate

, you will play a key role in shaping Rooftop's educational and creative initiatives. This role combines art research, content development, artist coordination, project management, and exhibition support to bring meaningful art experiences to life.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Art Research \& Knowledge Development

  • Research Indian and global art forms, artists, cultural heritage, and contemporary art practices.
  • Stay updated with trends, exhibitions, institutions, grants, and developments in the art ecosystem.
  • Develop and maintain content for Rooftop's Art Wiki and internal knowledge resources.

Course Development

  • Research, plan, script, review, and manage content for Rooftop's art courses.
  • Coordinate with artists and internal teams during course planning and shoots.
  • Ensure all course content is engaging, accurate, and aligned with Rooftop's vision.

Books \& Publications

  • Contribute to the research, writing, reviewing, and development of Rooftop's art books.
  • Work with artists, writers, and designers throughout the publishing process.

Artist Relations \& Collaborations

  • Coordinate with artists for courses, interviews, collaborations, and onboarding.
  • Build and maintain relationships with artists, galleries, museums, government and cultural institutions.

Exhibitions \& Events

  • Coordinate exhibitions, workshops, and events from planning to execution.
  • Manage artist profiles, artwork selection, cataloguing, vendor coordination, logistics, and documentation.

Artwork Documentation \& Inventory

  • Maintain artwork inventory, condition reports, digital archives, and artwork documentation.
  • Ensure artworks are properly catalogued, tracked, and managed.

Content \& Creative Projects

  • Contribute to blogs, educational content, and marketing initiatives.
  • Work on new creative concepts and special projects that align with Rooftop's vision.

Qualifications

  • 2-3\+ years of experience
  • Passion for art, culture, and creative education.
  • Strong understanding of Indian regional art with an interest in global art practices.
  • Excellent research, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency in digital research and documentation tools.
  • A degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Design, Humanities, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in art research, content creation, publishing, museums, galleries, or the creative industry is a plus.
