FutureTech Recruitment is partnered with a bootstrapped, profitable AI research platform approaching eight-figure ARR - zero VC dilution, strong equity upside. Their platform helps leading consumer brands make faster, smarter decisions by combining the rigour of traditional research with AI-powered speed and precision. Clients include recognisable household names across retail, health, and consumer goods

They’re hiring a Head of Engineering to become the sole technical owner of the product - owning production, feature delivery, architecture, and technical roadmap from day one. This is a high-autonomy, hands-on role with a clear path to VP of Engineering as the team scales. You’ll work hand-in-hand with a CTO who was early at Palantir and has held multiple C-level roles.

What You'll Own

• Full AWS environment: ECS, Aurora PostgreSQL, CloudFront, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and incident response
• Full-stack feature development across the platform - analytics dashboard, admin panel, survey application, and backend API
• An in-memory analytics layer built on DuckDB powering real-time dashboard interactions
• AI-powered features including an analytical assistant, operational agents, automated survey analysis, and report generation
• Architecture decisions - you make the call, not wait for approval
• Balance tech debt, infrastructure improvements, and feature delivery
• Technical voice in product conversations and credible representation to clients and stakeholders

Requirements

• 7\+ years as a high-ownership full-stack engineer at a B2B data-centric company
• Track record of extreme ownership - 10-75 person startups, former CTO of acquired/failed startup, or tech lead at a consulting shop
• Owned production systems end-to-end at data-centric companies (HealthTech, FinTech, research, analytics)
• Genuine full-stack expertise across frontend, backend, and databases - still actively writing code and debugging
• TypeScript stack but language agnostic if a fast learner
• High agency, strong bias for independent action, and ability to make decisions with incomplete information
• Clear communicator to non-technical teammates and clients
