Job Summary

:

Supports operations leadership in analyzing operational processes, workflows, and performance data to identify improvement opportunities across the Bank. This role is responsible for developing documentation, analysis, process mapping, and project coordination to support operational efficiency, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Business Analyst works with internal stakeholders to gather information, document requirements, and support the successful implementation of operational efficiency initiatives.

Essential Functions

:

  • Supports operations leadership in analyzing processes, documenting impacts, and executing continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Gathers and documents business, technical, and functional requirements from internal stakeholders and translate them into business requirement documentation.
  • Conducts research on a variety of bank operations-related topics to support strategy development and execution planning.
  • Compiles and analyzes operational data, performance metrics, and cost-benefit considerations to support a variety of initiatives led by operations leadership including process improvement, organizational maturity, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborates with internal line of business stakeholders, Information Technology, and vendors to support operational initiatives and clarify business requirements.
  • Develops use cases, workflow documentation, and testing support for operational improvement initiatives and implementations.
  • Develops and maintains process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and workflow diagrams.
  • Monitors implemented solutions to evaluate effectiveness and identify additional optimization opportunities.
  • Responsible for complying with audit policies and procedures as they pertain to this position.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive Bank information.
  • Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for customers and employees consistent with Southside Bank’s mission, CORE Values, and Blue Book culture guide.
  • Provides enthusiastic, professional, and courteous service to Southside Bank customers and employees.
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Responsible for complying with audit policies and procedures as they pertain to this position.
  • Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related anti-money laundering laws, and in accordance with the Bank’s Information Security Program.
  • Must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Additional Functions:

  • Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned or directed.

Required Education/Experience

:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University, or two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in banking or financial services operations.
  • Experience working with core banking systems or operational platforms.
  • Experience with process improvement or workflow automation tools.

Necessary Skills

:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience evaluating operational processes and system functionality.
  • Ability to create workflow diagrams, process maps, and business requirement documentation.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and similar tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results oriented.

Physical Activity/Dexterity:

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers. Works with fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.

Physical Environment Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to visit other offices, conference rooms, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
  • Constantly positions self to operate on a computer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with other people throughout each day. Must be able to exchange accurate information when conversing.

Working Conditions/Environment:

  • Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
  • Moderate noise (e.g. business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

Work Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm.
  • Available for overtime, as needed.
