The company is seeking an experienced
Controller
to oversee accounting and financial reporting activities supporting development, construction, real estate, and related operating divisions. This role will partner closely with executive leadership and operational stakeholders while ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls across multiple entities.
Responsibilities
:
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Manage multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and intercompany transactions
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
- Partner with operational leaders across development, construction, real estate sales, and marketing
- Coordinate annual audits and tax compliance activities
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
- Assist with system improvements and reporting enhancements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
Must-Have Skills
:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- 8\+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong background in land or real estate development accounting
- Experience managing multi-entity accounting environments
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
Nice to Have Skills
:
- CPA strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a Controller position
- Public accounting background
- Experience with large-scale development projects ($20M\+)
