Expert GIS Database Administrator

Job Description

The Expert GIS Database Administrator will provide advanced planning, implementation, and maintenance for enterprise-level geospatial architectures, requiring at least eight years of progressive experience with Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, and OGC-compliant databases. This role demands high proficiency in deploying both open-source and COTS GIS server equipment within intelligence environments, including the management of static and dynamic streaming data. A successful candidate must possess a TOP SECRET/SCI clearance, maintain DODD 8570\.01 certification, and demonstrate strong technical leadership and communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, 10 years of general experience in targeting or intelligence systems, and advanced proficiency in automation using Python, C#, or Java.

Required Skills

8 years of progressive experience performing complex analysis, design, development, and modification to improve the efficiency of Microsoft SQL and/or PostgreSQL databases in support of enterprise architecture. A successful Expert GIS Database Administrator shall perform advanced level planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of an enterprise level. Shall be highly proficient in administering and deploying open source and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) GIS server equipment in support of intelligence organizations. Should possess strong oral and written communication skills and be capable of effectively directing subordinates. Shall possess a high level/expert ability to manage and work with static and dynamic streaming geospatial oriented data. The Expert GIS Database Administrator is required to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of certification per DODD 8570\.01\.
