The

Ecosystem Engineer

will lead the development and execution of ecosystem architecture for Rheem Connected Products. This is a key position in the Advance Technology team within Rheem’s Enterprise organization and will play a crucial role in the experience and direction of Rheem’s Air and Water products.

This position will serve our Enterprise Division, located in

Lewisville, TX, Roswell, GA or Indianapolis, IN (Onsite)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define and design the System Architecture for the connected Air and Water products Ecosystem.
  • Lead the definition of Functional Requirements for each Ecosystem Application including Rheem Energy Solutions and Rheem Lifetime Value.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of system engineers. Foster a collaborative and innovative technical environment.
  • Work with 3rd party partners to integrate internal and partner digital applications and features.
  • Apply Systems Engineering methodologies and the V-Model approach to ensure thorough testing and verification of product functionality and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, test plans, and test cases that align with product and digital application requirements.
  • Ensure Functional Requirements Verification testing to validate that Ecosystem application and features meet design specifications and functional requirements.
  • Present roadmaps, status updates, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Design, develop, architect and test interconnected systems and technologies that form the ecosystem of our products.
  • Integrate various systems and technologies to ensure seamless operation and communication.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compatibility and integration of ecosystem components within and outside of Rheem products.
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure the reliability and performance of the ecosystem.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system integration and ecosystem functionality.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in ecosystem engineering and IoT technologies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, or a related field.
  • 5\+ years of experience in ecosystem engineering, system integration, product development or a related field.
  • 5\+ years of experience with Systems Engineering Processes, Requirements Management Tools, Test Automation Tools (e.g., Jama, Doors, Helix, Robot Framework, Selenium, Appium).
  • Strong knowledge of IoT technologies, system integration, and software development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C\+\+, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with Cybersecurity principles and NIST framework.
  • Experience with embedded systems and firmware development.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, and BACnet.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to mentor other engineers and staff.
  • Firm grasp of risk management practices.
  • Ability to create and manage project plans, timelines, and milestones.
  • An innovative solution-first spirit and an ability to think creatively.
  • Experience working effectively with multiple departments such as R\&D, product management, marketing, manufacturing, service, suppliers, and customers.
  • Experience with System Requirements Documentation, Requirements Allocation, Requirements Traceability, and Test Case development and execution.
  • Ability to read, understand and implement technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Ability to create and interpret a variety of schematic, electrical and mechanical diagrams.
  • High technical aptitude
  • Able to work with cross-functional teams (e.g., product managers, engineers, business teams) and external subject matter experts.
  • Passion for developing and taking ownership of innovative customer-facing products/services.
  • Great presentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of Water Heating or HVAC systems and their control requirements.
  • Certification in ecosystem engineering or related fields.
  • Work with key stakeholders to define project scope, timing, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to define, lead, and monitor the activities of cross functional project teams.
