Pipeline Plastics
Vice President of Sales · Full-time · On-site
Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex · Plastics Manufacturing
Vice President of Sales
Pipeline Plastics is a growth-stage plastics manufacturer serving energy, infrastructure, and industrial markets. As we scale, we are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Vice President of Sales to lead our commercial organization and drive sustained revenue growth.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior leadership role carries full accountability for invoicing performance, bookings targets, and the development of a high-performing sales team. The successful candidate will be both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator — equally comfortable engaging key customers in the field and driving rigorous internal process.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue and pipeline leadership
1\. Own and deliver annual invoicing targets, maintaining a reliable and accurate weekly rolling forecast
2\. Actively manage backlog to convert bookings to invoiced revenue, identifying and removing barriers to deal closure
3\. Accelerate deal velocity across the full sales cycle — from quote and award through release and invoice
4\. Monitor key performance indicators — including win rates, close rates, and new project activity — to proactively address gaps
Operational alignment
5\. Align sales activity with production capacity, scheduling requirements, and material specifications for maximum line optimization
6\. Partner cross-functionally with operations and engineering to ensure commercial commitments are executed efficiently
7\. Design and deliver quarterly business plans aligned to segment mix, margin, and volume objectives
Team leadership and development
8\. Lead structured coaching cadences — including daily representative check-ins, weekly 1:1s, and sales meeting scrimmages — to develop capability and drive accountability
9\. Ensure each team member has clarity on goals, performance gaps, and the specific actions required to close them
10\. Recruit, hire, and onboard sales talent; maintain an active recruiting pipeline to support team continuity and growth
11\. Validate CRM accuracy, activity levels, and pipeline quality through regular inspection and structured 1:1 reviews
Customer engagement and market development
12\. Personally manage relationships with key accounts and own the most significant opportunities in the pipeline
13\. Spend approximately two to three weeks per month in the field engaging customers and supporting the sales team
14\. Assess market share, competitive positioning, and segment mix on a quarterly basis; drive HDPE and material conversion initiatives
Qualifications
15\. Minimum of 7 years of progressive sales leadership experience, including at least 4 years in a direct selling capacity
16\. Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
17\. Demonstrated proficiency with CRM platforms and sales technology; strong pipeline management discipline
18\. Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or distribution sales environments strongly preferred; plastics, pipe, or resin industry background is a significant advantage
19\. Familiarity with production scheduling, material specifications, and capacity management preferred
20\. Knowledge of structured sales methodologies, such as Challenger Sales, and a proven ability to instill consistent selling behaviors across a team
21\. Exceptional leadership presence with the ability to communicate with clarity, operate with urgency, and earn the confidence of both customers and internal stakeholders
