About The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, Indirect to lead sourcing strategy and supplier management across critical indirect spend categories within a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment. This is a highly strategic role focused on building scalable sourcing frameworks, driving supplier performance, and supporting rapid company growth from development through production scale-up.
You will own end-to-end sourcing activities across categories such as Professional Services, Software/SaaS, IT Infrastructure, Facilities, Capital Equipment, and Corporate Services. The ideal candidate is highly autonomous, commercially strong, operationally minded, and comfortable operating in ambiguity while partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, IT, and Executive Leadership.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sourcing strategies across indirect procurement categories including Professional Services, Software/SaaS, IT, Facilities, and Capital EquipmentLead end-to-end sourcing activities including supplier selection, RFP/RFQ management, negotiations, contracting, and supplier onboardingDrive supplier negotiations focused on cost, scalability, risk mitigation, quality, and long-term partnershipsPartner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, IT, Legal, and Operations teams to support company prioritiesBuild scalable procurement processes and category management strategies to support rapid organizational growthEstablish supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement across cost, delivery, and operational efficiencySupport infrastructure expansion, CapEx initiatives, and operational build-outs tied to company scaling effortsIdentify opportunities for procurement optimization, spend visibility improvements, and process automationInfluence stakeholders and leadership through data-driven sourcing recommendations and market intelligenceRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, Finance, or related field10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within a high-growth or technical environmentStrong experience managing indirect spend categories such as Professional Services, Software/SaaS, IT, Facilities, or CapExProven experience building sourcing strategies and procurement processes within startup or scaling organizationsStrong commercial negotiation and supplier management experience involving complex agreements and contractsExperience partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, IT, and Legal organizationsStrong analytical, operational, and stakeholder management capabilitiesAbility to operate autonomously and drive initiatives with minimal oversightExperience managing multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously under aggressive timelinesPreferred Skills and Experience:
Aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, robotics, automotive, or hardware startup experienceExperience supporting organizations transitioning from R&D into scaled production environmentsFamiliarity with supplier industrialization, manufacturing scale-up, and infrastructure expansion effortsExperience supporting sourcing initiatives within regulated or security-conscious environmentsStrong understanding of ERP, procurement, and spend management systemsExperience sourcing Software/SaaS, cloud infrastructure, technical consulting, or enterprise IT servicesMBA, CPSM, CPM, CIPS, or related procurement certifications preferredExperience developing procurement KPIs, dashboards, and operational reporting frameworksDemonstrated success influencing cross-functional teams in fast-paced, execution-focused environments
