Job Description

Objectives

Develop work cell and production line layouts, implement systems, processes, equipment and procedures used in manufacturing to assure optimal quality, throughput and costs. Program 5 axis routers, laser tables and CNC brake presses.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Design and oversee construction of tooling and fixtures required for new product launch or improvement of process capability, productivity or ergonomics.

· Oversee new product introduction and pilot production. Monitor production to assure target takt times and manufacturing costs are met and product conform with specifications.

· Utilize SolidWorks to review customer models and Mastercam to create CNC programs for 5-axis routers or Amada VPSS laser and brake press programming software

· Prepare and present ECN including Bill Of Material and Routings; evaluate existing BOM for accuracy

· Create or improve work instructions to control and improve production processes

· Investigate production performance issues related to safety, quality, capacity, reliability, and process capability leading to proposal and implementation of sound technical solutions.

· Assist with development of continuous improvement goals, data collection and communication of KPI.

· Presentation of data and reports to management.

· Continual evaluation of equipment, processes and programming to ensure both efficiency and quality remain high.

· Complete Time Studies with suggestions for improvement

· Completion of documentation to show and ensure compliance with both internal and and customer specifications.

Applicant Education Requirements and Skills

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred

· 2-5 years experience as manufacturing or industrial engineer or similar dealing with relevant metal and composites fabrication processes and markets.

· Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

· Experience in managing timelines and long/short term assignments.

· Ability to use CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, Catia as well as ERP systems or other

· Familiarity with MasterCAM or other computer aided manufacturing software preferred

  • · Familiarity with Amada VPSS programming tools is a plus
