Electrical Engineer-in-Training I (0 to 2 years’ experience)
Must have EIT or PE certifications
Onsite - Plano, TX
Full Time
Purpose
To serve as a member of LTY’s electrical design team and to assist the team in production of high-
quality contract documents for the firm’s clients, ensuring that the process fulfills the LTY vision and
mission.
Essential Duties and Functions
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 electrical codes
- Working knowledge of lighting and lighting controls
- Working knowledge of fire alarm systems
- Working knowledge of power and power distribution systems, including emergency power
- Participate in client meetings as necessary and/or as assigned by supervisor
- Participate in career development training as assigned by supervisor or Human Resources
Required Skills and Knowledge
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) examination
- Certified by the State of Texas as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines
- Ability to work well on a team
- Exceptional written and verbal skills
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of and experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of building codes
- Previous experience in a MEP consulting environment
- Previous experience designing MEP systems for schools
- Experience in the design of lighting and lighting controls, fire alarms, power and power
