Job Description
Job overview:
An electrician in the semiconductor industry typically works as an industrial or facility electrician in semiconductor manufacturing plants (fabs), supporting the massive electrical infrastructure needed for chip production. These facilities are highly complex, power-intensive environments with cleanrooms, advanced equipment, high-voltage systems, and strict safety/quality standards.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and repairing complex electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, controls, and equipment in manufacturing areas.
- Installing, commissioning, and verifying new electrical equipment to meet codes (e.g., NEC), company specs, and industry standards.
- Troubleshooting electrical issues in tools, HVAC systems, ultrapure water systems, and other support infrastructure critical to chip fabrication.
- Performing preventive maintenance, QA/QC checks, and ensuring minimal downtime in a high-stakes production setting.
- Working with high-voltage systems, variable frequency drives, PLCs, and sometimes specialized semiconductor process equipment.
- Collaborating with engineers and technicians to support fab operations, often in or around cleanroom-adjacent areas
- Working with various levels of apprentices towards on job training requirements.
Qualification:

Must Have:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Approved Background check \& Drug screen
- Valid Driver’s License
Nice to Have:
- Bilingual – Spanish / Mandarin
- Degree in Electrical or related field
Skills:
Must Have:
- Ability to read Blueprints / Schematics
- Test electrical systems using specialized tools and equipment
- Proven experience as an Electrician in both commercial and industrial settings
- Voltmeter operation
- Ability to build and renovate electrical systems
- Experience working with high voltage systems
- Maintenance Person skills for on-the-spot repairs
- Proficiency with hand tools for precise work
- Ohmmeter usage for accurate measurements
- Understanding of construction site dynamics
- Knowledge of methods to perform skilled work
