Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using testing equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- When work has been completed, must inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advises Management on continued operation of equipment and when it could become hazardous.
- Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Must have at least a rudimentary knowledge of PLC programming, industrial conveyance safety devices and interlocking.
- Troubleshoots motor controls and PLCs.
- Provides preventative maintenance.
- Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
- Installs conduits and pipes for electrical wires and cables.
- Ensures all wiring complies with electrical codes.
- Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
- Connects electrical systems to provide electricity, where needed.
- Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Inspects electrical systems to determine if repairs are needed.
- Replaces conduit and wiring as needed.
- Replaces circuit breakers as needed.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
Must be 18 years or older.
