Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, team performance, and strategic growth within the Suwanee Operations. The individual will oversee overall technical project throughput, customer engagement, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure high‑quality project delivery and alignment with SGS business objectives. This position requires strong managerial capability, the ability to lead teams through change, and a commitment to continuous improvement in service quality and operational efficiency.
The role includes full business line ownership from proposal through final report delivery, while guiding teams, improving processes, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting business development. The position also includes oversight of key operational areas such as accreditation compliance, resource planning, staff development, and technical capability expansion.
This role includes managing direct reports and cultivating a high‑performance culture aligned with SGS values.
Specifically, these responsibilities are to:
- Provide leadership, direction, and accountability for engineering and technical teams.
- Oversee end‑to‑end project execution, ensuring excellence in quality, timeliness, and client communication.
- Drive a culture of operational discipline, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Manage team performance through coaching, mentoring, and development planning.
- Strengthen customer relationships, represent the Suwanee operations with professionalism, and support the commercial team in expanding market opportunities.
- Ensure the Suwanee site maintains required accreditations (ISO 17025) and complies with corporate standards and industry expectations.
- Develop long‑term resource plans, including staffing, training, equipment, and facilities expansion.
- Assess and prioritize lab investments to support growth and operational capacity.
- Support sales efforts through expert input on scope, capability, timelines, and client needs.
- Represent the site in cross‑functional discussions with leadership, other SGS facilities, and customers.
- Support strategic planning and help shape the Suwanee operational roadmap.
- Travel to customer sites and SGS facilities as required (25–35%).
Qualifications
Profile of the position (Requirements \& Qualifications):
- BSEE, BSME or equivalent degree or
- 5\+ years in technical industry
- 2-3 years as staff or technical lead or manager
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 or equivalent accreditation requirements
- Able to travel outside the US.
- An MBA is a plus, reflecting leadership, business acumen, and strategic capability.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage customers and SGS colleagues globally.

Additional Information
Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 per year. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
